 Time is a positive affirmation of our present existence. It is both the measure of life and the extension of space. The rapid changes we experience are proof of this existence. The work reimagines the concept of time through the redesign of Dongba script characters related to time, combined with black-and-white woodblock printing, presenting a completely new form of time.

Dongba script, the only living pictographic writing system in the world, is included in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register. Its intricate graphics convey a sense of the flow of time and the Naxi people’s profound perception of life. This remaining pictographic script represents a thread of continuity—through memory, culture, and heritage—deserving sustainable attention and use, in order to prevent collective forgetting and neglect.
